Who is Benedikt F?
Benedikt is one of the co-founders of jamie together with Louis Morgner.
They co-founded their startup next to their studies in Maastricht and built software to make work easier for everyone.
With jamie they have built a product that generates an automated meeting summary in business-writing quality within seconds. Therefore, nobody needs to worry about taking notes again.
Tell us more about your role in wespond.
At jamie, I am mainly responsible for sales, business development, and for creating long-lasting relationships with external partners.
What is the most difficult part of your job? But the most rewarding one?
Something which I believe is difficult at an early stage is finding the balance between trying new things and holding on to older ideas and pushing them further. However, when choosing to try something new or to pivot a little and it works out well, this can be the most rewarding. Furthermore, working with a motivated team daily is something, which is highly rewarding to me.
Is there anything that you would change about your professional path?
Not at all – having co-founded the business next to studying was probably one of the best decisions for me in retrospect and I am grateful for the way my professional path has developed since then.
What’s your key strategy for the development of your company?
We want to build something people love. Therefore, we are currently working very closely with our customers and give our best every day to build a product, that is loved by every single customer. We focus a lot on making it easy and fun to use, which is not necessarily always the case for B2B products and can also be challenging at times.
What do you think about the next period of time, keeping in mind the pandemic and the new business climate? How will your industry be affected?
Our product is designed for users in several industries. What is noticeable is that many new SaaS/productivity products have been popping up over the last years and will most likely continue to do so. I think it is going to be interesting to see, which are going to stay in the long-term and solve a pressing pain for users and are not just a “nice-to-have”.
Please name a few technologies which have the greatest impact on your business.
Artificial Intelligence is by the far the technology, which has the biggest impact on our business. This is due to the fact, that jamie uses artificial intelligence to generate meeting summaries automatically.
What books do you have on your nightstand?
“Essentialism” is one of these, which is a great book and showed me how important focus is, in today’s fast-moving and changing environment, that comes with so many potential distractions.
Additionally, “The Happiness Advantage” is an interesting read currently. It states that happiness does not come from success but rather the other way around.
